Beginning in the Arenal region, our Costa Rica trip takes you through the river, and up and over Mistico Park’s hanging suspension bridges. Warm up with a hike around the Arenal Volcano or a dip in the Baldi Hot Springs. There’s something for everyone as we will visit a Wildlife Refuge, and a Butterfly Farm.

Kick back and finish your trip with a relaxing 5 nights at the beautiful Tamarindo Beach Resort; a perfect place to bask in the beauty of Costa Rica.

Day 1 - Home cities to San Jose, Costa Rica

Arrival San Jose International Airport. After you clear customs, your local guide will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel. Meet your fellow travellers at our WestWorld Tours Welcome Dinner this evening.

Day 2 - San Jose to Arenal Area

Your trip starts with a drive north on the Pan American Highway over rolling hills of sugar cane and coffee plantations. With a must make a stop in the famous town of Sarchí, with international fame; it has earned the name of the birthplace of Costa Rica’s Artisans. After a bit of time to explore, continue through diverse plantations with agricultural products, ornamental plants, and cattle ranches until we arrive to La Fortuna located in the Arenal area of Costa Rica, known as a gateway to Arenal Volcano National Park. Check into your hotel for the next two nights. During your stay, enjoy warm, personalized service at every moment. Sneak away for a massage, spa therapy or beauty treatment at Neidin Spa, or ride the free shuttle to Titokú hot springs, with complimentary admission to the heated hot springs pools.

Day 3 – Arenal Area

Today explore the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge and Rio Frío biological humid areas considered to be one of the richest in biological diversity in Costa Rica. Named a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2007. Here you can find a wide variety of resident and migratory birds plus three varied species of monkeys, also iguanas, sloths, turtles and caymans. You will begin your adventure at Los Chiles village only 4 kms from the Nicaraguan border, there begin a two-hour floating safari through the Tropical Rain Forest and pastures until we arrive at the marsh before returning to relax at your rainforest resort with magnificent volcano views.

Day 4 – Arenal Area

Discover all the wonderful secrets hidden in the forest with your naturalist guide exploring the Arenal Hanging Bridges. The trails and bridges provide a unique place for observing species spotted along the way. Your naturalist guide will point out the different layers of the rainforest, from the treetops, the understory, and the forest floor; this way you can truly appreciate many of the species housed by this spectacular biological corridor. Enjoy 15 bridges, 6 of them hanging, your guide, who through the natural history will open the doors of a fascinating and colorful Tropical Rain Forest world. The imposing vistas of the Volcano from the hanging bridges over the forest make a perfect combination for an unforgettable experience. After lunch, enjoy the most extraordinary view of the Arenal Volcano on a gentle short hike, via a trail close to the volcano area, with a stop at Baldi Natural Hot Springs for a healthy and relaxing soak. Enjoy a delicious dinner before heading back to your hotel.

Day 5 - Arenal to Monteverde

After breakfast, your journey continues to the Monteverde Area, known for its nature reserve, perfect for nature lovers. On a beautiful drive take in the breathtaking views of the northern plains of Costa Rica. Your local guide will tell you the importance of each habitat and the history of each town passing by. Arriving at your mountain resort, check-in and start relaxing your soul and enjoy your two-night stay with the best view of the Gulf of Nicoya.

Day 6 - Monteverde

The day is yours to enjoy at leisure, with optional tours available ($). You might enjoy spending time relaxing at the Spa or take a canopy tour through the cloud forest. After witnessing a magnificent sunset, you might like to check out the exuberant ‘nightlife’ of the forest as professional guides instruct you on the mysteries and curiosities of the rain forest after dark.

Day 7 - Monteverde

Visit El Trapiche Farm, owned by a Costa Rican family,  for a natural experience of coffee, chocolate, and sugar cane, YUM! Beginning with a guided tour of the farm to observe the different plantations located therein, cross a small patch of forest where occasionally wildlife can be spotted. In the span of the walk, learn about the process involved in sugarcane cultivation, the natural history and sample some of the sugar cane and its derivatives. Then learn about the coffee process, from planting to crushing, peeling, and roasting as well as the various stages of processing cocoa. See all three types of typical trapiches (sugar cane mills) in use on the farm, culminating at the place where artisanal sugar cane candy is made. Enjoy a delicious lunch before your next adventure, exploring a spectacular ecosystem at Curi-Cancha Private Reserve. Stroll along beautiful trails with a naturalist guide, see varied species of birds, mammals, and incredible displays of flora.

Day 8 - Monteverde to Guanacaste

After enjoying two of the best destinations in Costa Rica for nature lovers it is time to visit Guanacaste, one of the most popular provinces in Costa Rica. Guanacaste has gained a name for itself as a tropical paradise with a pristine shoreline, beautiful mountain ranges and home of the Dry Tropical Forest. Enjoy amazing views and hear all about the history of the local towns enroute to the charming beach town of Tamarindo and you home for the next 5 nights. Sadly, all good things must come to an end. This morning transfer to Liberia airport for your flight home.

Visit To An Artesian Town

Visit the quaint little town of Sarchi, known throughout Costa Rica for its beautiful and intricate arts and crafts and souvenirs. It is most widely recognized for its colorful and decorative oxcarts that have been made here for over a century.

Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge & Rio Frio

This is a biological humid area considered to be one of the richest in biological diversities in Costa Rica. Here you can find a great variety of resident and migratory birds, plus 3 different species of monkeys, also iguanas, sloths, turtles and caimans. Enjoy a floating safari through the tropical rainforest.

Arenal Hanging Bridges

If you love nature, you will love these 15 bridges from 5 -100 metres long. Walk along 3 km of interpretive trails guided by a naturalist.

Arenal Volcano Hike

Enjoy spectacular views of the Arenal Volcano on a gentle hike of about 1 hour along the base of the volcano. This short hike will give you a chance to enjoy the forest.
